5.2 Extrusion limits
This is a measurement of the diameter of the largest profile possible to extrude by our machine with a given container. Although this is fixed based on the container, the container for our machine can be changed in certain cases if the production volume of a profile warrants it, and if it is within the pressure capacity of our machine. The current size of out maximum is 16". So this would mean that the profiles section that we can make must fit within a 16" circle.
5.2.1 Shape Factor
The shape factor increases with the complexity of the section and the reduction of the wall thickness.

5.2.2 Form factor
The form factor is a measure of the section and its minimum wall thickness of the materials to be extruded.
For minumum wall thickness please consult us directly.

5.2.3 Calculation of reduction ratio
The reduction ratio is usually referred to as the area of the billet divided by the area of the profile to be extruded. i.e. Billet area is 5" 127.49 (400.55sq.mm) and the profile is round of 0.787" (62.83sq.mm) the reduction ratio is 1:6.375 This is also often expressed in Reduction as percentage of reduction, or 84.3% reduction.
